Cyril J. Summers, 73 died at 2:10 a.m. today March 31, 1970 at his Veedersburg Route 1 home. He had been in failing health four and one-half months. Born Aug 16, 1896 in Fountain County, he was the son of Joseph M. and Lear E. Wagoner Summers. He was married Aug 31, 1918 to Hazel E. Bean who survives. Summers was a retired farmer and attended the Scotts Prairie Christian Church. He had resided in the Scotts Prairie neighborhood for some 40 years. Other survivors include 3 sons; Earl J. of Hillsboro Rt 1; Orval Lee and Harold D. both of Veedersburg Rt 1; a brother J. Marx Summers of Wallace; a sister, Mrs. Gertrude Hallett of Waynetown and 7 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Martha Lucille Summers ; one brother and one sister. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Crumley-Williams Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Rev. James W. Whitaker officiating. Burial in Wolfe Creek Cemetery, near Wallace.- kbz
